Wolf hunting

Wolf (Canis lupus) hunting

Top predator-appropriate, the wolf has very good senses – it sees, hears and scents the pray from a distance and also perceives a threat that could endanger it. All of that makes it rather difficult to hunt a wolf: very often the pack already flees during the encircling, and if they are already on the move, it is just as well as that they escaped.

Fresh snow, good weather conditions and sufficient number of hunters are prerequisite for a successful hunt. Hunting of the wolves requires considerable groundwork and preparation. After a thorough encircling, hunting line is placed around the area and the beaters will chase the game on a move.
